Nepal has been hit by a series of earthquakes since April 25th, 2015. The first of them reached a 7.8 magnitude and was felt in New Delhi as well as in the north of India. Several violent aftershocks occurred the following days. The most powerful even reached a magnitude of 7 on May 12th, 2015.
According to the figures released by the UN, the human toll is heavy: at least 8000 people dead and 7953 people injured including more than 300 in Kathmandu ; 57 dead in India, mainly in the oriental state of Bihar, 17 dead in Tibet (China) and 2 dead in Bangladesh. The prime minister of Nepal, Sushil Koirala, declared that th total number of victims could reach 10 000 dead.
